Ms. Sandrine Piau at Carnegie Hall

Les Galgenlieder de Vincent Bouchot étaient époustouflante! — at Zankel Hall.

When midnight comes and neither moon
Nor stars dwell in the heaven house,
Then twelve times through the heaven house runs
The midnight mouse.

It squeaks with its little mouth,
In its dreams the hell-horse bellows...
But it quietly carries out its task,
This midnight mouse.

Its master, the great white spirit,
Traveled away on such a night, you see.
Good for him! His house is guarded by
Die Mittelnachtsmaus.

(Morgenstern's Galgenlieder)
